studio news...

It is our pleasure announce that the 2007 BOB fest recordings are underway, and our seventh year is looking like our best ever!  Tracking is complete and we anticipate the release of the finished CD very soon.

Among our most exciting new projects is the charming and talented Nick Canger.  This up and coming country voice is sure to be heard on your favorite country station, and seen on the walls of adoring girls any day now.  Canger’s demo features some of the areas greatest players including one of our personal favorites, Pat Coast!

The newest Aaron Richner CD is also underway, and making waves.  Stop by garageband.com to see how well his new songs are going over.  This month he has had two “tracks of the day” and won “male vocalist of the week”! The demo is out, and the full length is soon to be as well.  This summer boasts of line up of record industry auditions and showcases sure to be a hit!

College Road is looking forward to a summer of terrific releases including the ever popular blues voice of Cary Fly, Spokane’s favorite funk….Sugarbeat , Atomic Clock (featuring Cicho Forest and Miah Knight),  Angela Hunt, Sean Dressen, Jeremy Walters and many others.  This spring completed the remastering of The Claiborne Quartet’s entire 11 album collection, and the recording  of The RedWing fiddlers, and The Jim Huntsman Band to name a few.  Today we are welcoming a new group, Big Bing Theory, the only choir you’ll ever listen to in your car….just trust me.

We also have an exciting bit of news, College Road has welcomed Mr. Charlie Mauk to our staff as an assistant engineer!  After hundreds of applications over the last year, we have finally found the right man for the job.  Not only an engineer, but an exceptional player and arranger, Charlie brings a new level of professionalism and talent to the College Road Staff.

This summer is sure to be an exciting one for us, so we hope you can join us for a little of the fun at some of our favorite events such as Elk Pioneer Days, BOB fest, Pig Out in the Park, and First Night Spokane, where we are sure to be with some of our new artists.  We look forward to seeing you!  Carly Thames – Studio Manager

College Road welcomes the addition of some great analog gear from Avalon and Empirical Labs, checkout the mastering section for more details.

Also we have added a Ernie Ball Music Man bass to the instruments offered for use at the studio.  Anyone who has recorded knows that the key to great bass tone is a great bass.
